Forum: GratefulDead Subject: anniversary of sorts

At this time 43 years ago a music festival was held at the tripping fields of SUNY New Paltz. On the Sat. bill was Sonny Terry and Brownie MaGee, The Young Bloods, and Hot Tuna. The Sunday show was The Jefferson Airplane and Joe Cocker and the Mad Dogs and Englishmen. The weekend was likened to a mini Woodstock sans the rain, mud and about 475,000 people.I already posted pix of the album cover they shot for that day and if I'm right it was this weekend all those years ago.As a footnote they did orginally want to book the Dead but either the town or the school admin nixed the booking.
